Privacy

DevStrand Image is built so your photos do not need to live on our server. Cropping, filters, retouching, object erase, and passport framing run in your browser. Background removal tries the same on-device model first; if the browser cannot run it, the photo is sent to this app’s server for a one-shot pass and is not stored. Image and video generation is different: the prompt and any reference photo you attach go to a short-lived generation service so a model can run. DevStrand does not keep an archive of those files.

What we store

We do not keep an image archive. Opening a photo from your disk, camera, or clipboard does not store the file. Opening from a URL uses a short-lived proxy so the image can be drawn on the canvas. If background removal has to run on the server, that request is processed in memory and discarded after the PNG is returned. Image and video generation proxies a prompt (and an optional reference image) to a generation model and returns the result; the reference is held in memory for a few minutes so the model can fetch it, then discarded.

Models

Face detection and (when the browser supports it) background removal download public ML models to your device. The server fallback uses the same class of model on this app, not a third-party photo host. Generation uses a separate image/video model. Ken Burns and slideshow clips are recorded in your browser and never leave the device.
